It is based on the Cascade Lake-SP microarchitecture and is designed for high-throughput workloads such as compute-intensive applications, data analytics, and virtualization. The Intel Xeon Platinum 8260 processor has a base frequency of 2.40 GHz and a maximum turbo frequency of 3.90 GHz. It has 35.75 MB of cache and supports up to 1 TB of DDR4-2933 memory. The Intel Xeon Platinum 8260 processor is also compatible with Intel Optane DC persistent memory, which can provide up to 3 times the performance of traditional DRAM.
